Sorta Sick

Everybody in my house is sick so it was just a matter of time until I got something.

It's not a bad cold. It still feels like I am fighting it and I could be 100% better tomorrow. This morning, I was still feeling a little achy, a little run down.

I slept a little bit on the train. I sat down, made sure the conductor saw my pass, and then closed my eyes. Drifting away a little bit from consciousness was good. More rest would be even better.

Day 2 of This Sickness

I woke up feeling a little better but no where close to being 100%. I keep taking lots of Vitamin C and hope that it helps this cold end soon.

Other than that, the commute was fine. There was no problems in terms of timing - although at the station, people like to stand outside waiting for the train so it appears that I'm later than I really am.

Packed Train

I am a little under the weather this morning and the cold wind didn't help matters.

The packed train was uncomfortable. I didn't want to cough or sneeze on anybody. It was better to rest my eyes and turn my head to avoid spreading my cold.

I hope I feel better soon for everyone's sake.

Why Aren't We All Sick?

Germ warfare is a part of riding the MBTA. I am not sure everyone is a conscious participant in the germ war, but I am. It is a full-on fight not to catch the ugly virus that is making the person next to you hack and cough in the most disgusting ways.

People...please cover your mouth when you cough. I don't want to be sick. I don't want what you have. Even though my immune system has evolved and has been fortified due to my ridership on the T, I am still human. My body cannot fight off every flu or cold virus out there...especially when I am exposed to it in the cold confines of the bus and/or Orange Line.

I might need to start wearing rubber gloves and a surgical mask.

Vomit at Back Bay Station

Hey, howdy there peeps. It's yer old pal blogging again. I saw something this morning and I need to tell the whole world. Yeah, really.

Someone got sick on the Back Bay Orange Line T platform. I did not see the person that got sick, but I did see what they left behind.

It was chunky. It was pink. It covered a 16 inch diameter on the platform floor.

Thankfully it was closer to the Inbound side. I saw it but did not have to step in it.

Now you know the most exciting part of my commute today.

Yeah, I don't feel well. I started to feel crappy on Friday and then it got worse as the days wore on this weekend culminating with a lethargic and chill-ridden MLK day. I only get sick twice a year (on average), and when I do get sick...it's pretty bad.

I think I am getting over it. The fluids have been flowing since 6:45 and I have cleaned off my steering wheel, radio, gear shift, lights switch, and window wiper controls. I refuse to take any OTC drugs to relieve my symptoms because I hate the side effects like drowsiness...which isn't good for driving to work.
